Tecnodieci Quartz; SiO2 = Molecular Weight (MA) = 60.1
Quartz, quartz sand, feldspathic sand, feldspar and kaolin raw materials enter the glaze composition. Although it depends on the amount of other oxides in the glaze composition, excessive use of silica creates dullness in the glaze, while low use creates boiling. In low temperature glazes, the ratio of silica to melting oxides is 2:1 (mol), and in high temperature glazes it is 10:1 (mol). As quartz increases, the expansion coefficient of the glaze decreases.
Quartz ceramics sector; in glaze formulations, micronized 63 micron, mass (body) recipes are used as a raw material
The quality of quartz is determined by the % silicon oxide ratio in it, the low ratio of impurities called Fe0, TiO2
Tecnodieci Quartz is the name given to very pure silicon dioxide crystals. Quartz, which has a specific gravity of 2.65 g/cm³ and a hardness of 7, is very common in nature. Quartz, which crystallizes in the hexagonal system, can be found in crystalline or amorphous form in nature.
